CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading Co. signed a cooperation agreement with Shandong Shipping Corporation on 27 August for a 2+4 project of 325,000 DWT ethanol/methanol tri-fuel ore carriers. The vessels are designed to run on ethanol, methanol and heavy fuel oil, according to the announcement.
Enesel has ordered another 210,000 dwt Newcastlemax bulk carrier from Hengli Heavy Industries, expanding its orderbook there to five ships. Seanergy Maritime also placed an additional newbuilding order at the Chinese yard, as large bulk carrier ordering has picked up.
Sanmar Shipyards delivered the tugboat UT AMAZONAS to Ultratug at a ceremony at its Altinova Shipyard on 11 August 2026. The vessel will operate in Colombia and is the sister ship to UT PATZCUARO, which Sanmar delivered to Ultratug a few months earlier and which is now working in Mexico.
Hanwha Shipping has taken delivery of its first VLCC tanker, Elandra K2, from Hanwha Ocean’s Okpo Shipyard in South Korea. The 320,000 DWT vessel is registered in the Marshall Islands and will go on charter to Vitol; AIS data showed it at Khor Fakkan anchorage in the UAE.
Austal USA has started construction on the future USCGC Ingham, its third U.S. Coast Guard Heritage-class Offshore Patrol Cutter, at its Mobile, Alabama shipyard. The cutter is being built under a contract with options for up to 11 vessels and a current potential value of $3.3 billion.
ISA Yachts has presented ISA Amarcord 86, an 86-metre, 13.6-metre-beam concept in the new ISA Large Yacht Collection. The yard says it is the second interpretation of the series and was designed by Nuvolari Lenard.
Aister has placed the stern frame on JANOT, the catamaran it is building for Saint Pierre et Miquelon. The yard said the vessel has now reached a major structural milestone and that the name was formally confirmed during a visit by archipelago president Bernard Briand.
Guangzhou Shipyard International delivered the third 74,500-DWT chemical and products tanker in a series for Norway's Ocean Yield on 26 August 2026. The vessel, Blissful Future, was handed over 217 days ahead of its contractual schedule.
CIMC Raffles delivered the Ro-Ro vessel SKIPANES to Smyril Line at its Longkou base on 25 August 2026. The ship is the first of two Ro-Ro vessels ordered under a strategic cooperation contract signed in 2024.
General Dynamics NASSCO delivered USNS Hector A. Cafferata Jr. (ESB 8) to the U.S. Navy on Tuesday. The handover completed the Expeditionary Sea Base programme, which the yard said was the last vessel in the class built under the contract.
Bayraktar Shipping has contracted Wuhan Qingshan Shipyard for two firm plus two optional 1,800-TEU container vessels. Deliveries are due in 2028 and 2029. The Turkish owner last took delivery of a newbuilding in 2011, according to Clarksons.
Chowgule and Company's Shipbuilding Division has delivered MV Hansa Anholt, the second 8,500 DWT vessel in a series for German shipowner Leonhardt & Blumberg. The ship was handed over from the Mangaluru shipyard on 27 August 2026. The class is intended for short-sea and regional trades.
