Navantia UK has started recruiting 28 skilled workers for its Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, including 21 welders, five platers and two pipefitters. The hires will support three 39,000-tonne Fleet Solid Support ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, with a further 66 apprentices due to start in September.
Concordia Damen has signed a contract to build two CDS River Cruise 135 vessels for TUI River Cruises. The ships will be built at the Dutch yard and delivered in 2028, with each vessel set to carry 188 guests in 94 cabins.
Concordia Damen has delivered the Century Star to Century Cruises, the first river cruise ship the China-based operator has commissioned for the European market. The vessel is the first of three sister ships and will start sailing on the Danube in September 2026 before Rhine itineraries follow later.
Strategic Marine and Mainprize Offshore signed a protocol of delivery and acceptance for the MO15 and MO16 vessels. The agreement follows the Seawork 2024 multi-vessel contract and comes after deliveries of MO10, MO11 and the first two MO12 and MO14 Supa Swath vessels earlier this year.

Rauma Marine Constructions has launched the two-year Electric Ship Factory project to develop large fully electric RoPax and RoRo vessels for European short sea routes. The consortium is led by RMC and includes Pemamek, Kempower, Åbo Akademi University, VTT, Tampere University, Aalto University, Solita, DNV and CeLLife, with partial funding from Business Finland.
PV Shipyard handed over steel structures for the 2GW Nederwiek Beta HVDC project to TenneT and Seatrium on March 14 in Ho Chi Minh City. The scope covered a Loadout Support Frame and Skid Beams weighing about 5,500 tons, with the Skid Beams completed 75 days ahead of schedule and the work recorded 500,000 safe working hours with no lost-time injuries.
Strategic Marine has delivered the first two Supa Swath vessels to Mainprize Offshore under a six-vessel programme signed at Seawork in June 2024. The contract includes options for a further six units, and the vessels are intended for offshore renewables work in Europe.

Orskov Yard in Frederikshavn has replaced the crane arm on a large offshore vessel during a recent drydocking. The new crane section was dispatched from Poland, moved by road across Europe and then shipped across the Baltic Sea and Kattegat to the yard. The source does not name the vessel or its owner.
The Spirit of Tasmania V has left Rauma Shipyard for Tasmania, months after being delivered to TT-Line Company PTY Ltd in June. The 212-m RoPax ferry was built for the Bass Strait service between Geelong and Devonport and is the second of two Spirit of Tasmania ferries completed at Rauma.
Singatac has opened a new facility at Ras Al Khair in Saudi Arabia, extending its fabrication work into the Kingdom. The company said the site will supply components for oil and gas and renewable wind energy markets across the GCC, Africa and Europe.
