AISTER has finished construction of two MZ12 PILOT pilot boats for Honduras and is carrying out sea trials in the Vigo estuary. The vessels, San Lorenzo and Merendón, are destined for Puerto Henecán and Puerto Cortés under the Honduran flag after final acceptance.
Construction has started on a 39-meter passenger ferry for Singapore's Majestic Fast Ferry. PT Cahaya Samudra is building the vessel, which Incat Crowther designed to carry 312 passengers at up to 32.5 knots.
CMN has taken on 33 new alternants for the 2026 intake, adding them to the 22 apprentices already at the yard. PIRIOU has delivered the wind-powered cargo ship Atlantis to NEWTOWT, the French shipping company formed after the takeover of TOWT. It is the third sailing vessel in the fleet and the first delivered to the new shipowner. Atlantis follows Anémos and Artémis, both handed over by PIRIOU in 2024 as part of the Phénix class.
Tersan Shipyard has held the keel laying ceremony for the cable laying vessel InterOcean, Hull No. NB1139, for LS Marine Solution. The ceremony marked the vessel’s formal move into construction. Baku Shipyard has started construction on the first of three 42-metre DP2 crew boats designed by Incat Crowther for an offshore energy services operator in Azerbaijan. The vessels are being built for work around pre-existing offshore energy infrastructure in the Caspian Sea and will have steel hulls and superstructures.
Furetank and its partners have ordered four new dual-fuel product tankers, according to an announcement on 31 August 2026. The 17,999-dwt ships will be able to run on liquefied biomethane, LNG or gasoil and will be fitted with shore-power connections and battery-hybrid systems.
Samsung Heavy Industries won a contract on 31 August 2026 to build two container ships for an African shipowner. The deal is worth about 444.5 billion KRW, or about $320 million, with delivery due by December 2028.
ZPMC named the first two vessels in a new series of 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy-lift ships for China-Poland Joint Shipping Company at a ceremony on 28 August 2026. The ships, No.1 CHELMONSKI and No.2 WYSPIANSKI, were named at Zhenhua Offshore and each measures 182 metres overall, with a 30-metre moulded breadth and a 17-metre moulded depth.
Naval Group signed a contract in Stockholm on 31 August 2026 to supply four frigates of defence and intervention to the Swedish Royal Navy. The deal was signed with Sweden’s defence ministry and FMV, less than four months after Sweden selected the FDI, with first delivery due in 2030.
