Estaleiro Mauá CEO Miro Arantes took part in a Navalshore panel on the support-vessel market and the impact of global shipping dynamics on Brazil. Mauá said about 4,500 support vessels are operating worldwide and roughly half could reach 25 years of service by 2035.
At Navalshore, Estaleiro Mauá CEO Miro Arantes joined a panel on the support-vessel market and the impact of global trends on Brazil. He pointed to an aging world fleet, a comfortable PSV balance in Brazil for now, and a Brazilian HTS fleet in which about 70% of vessels are 16 years old or more.
Estaleiro Mauá took part in the EIC Forum: Naval Edition in Rio de Janeiro on 26 June 2026. CEO Miro Arantes was one of the panelists discussing strategies for vessel contracting in Brazil.
Estaleiro Mauá held a community event at the Centro Cultural Marcelo Decolores in Ponta d’Areia on the last weekend of May. The session, titled “A Força de Trabalho – Foco nas Pessoas e Memória Oral da Ponta D’Areia,” closed the yard’s Worker’s Month program and focused on oral history and the people behind the local shipbuilding industry.
Estaleiro Mauá signed on to Niterói’s municipal Refis programme for the naval sector on 14 April, in a ceremony at the yard. The agreement was signed by CEO Miro Arantes and Mayor Rodrigo Neves, with municipal and state officials present.
More than 2,200 people took part in a commemorative run and walk for the 180th anniversary of Brazil’s naval industry on 8 February. The start was at Estaleiro Mauá in Niterói, and the event was organised by Circuito CPN.
Estaleiro Mauá held its 2025 managers’ meeting on 19 December, bringing together company leaders to review the year and set priorities for 2026. The yard also included a talk by professor Rodrigo Abreu in the programme. The announcement did not name vessels, owners or contract values.
Estaleiro Mauá has named Hensel Gonçalves as its new commercial director. The yard said he has experience in the maritime, offshore and port sectors, including corporate restructuring and new business development.
Estaleiro Mauá took part in Tomorrow.Blue Economy Niterói 2025, held on 26 and 27 November at Caminho Niemeyer. The yard joined the Brazilian event as an institutional supporter and had Heitor Ciuffo, its institutional adviser, speak on the Ocean Stage.
Estaleiro Mauá held a Health of Men and nutrition session for employees on 6 November, during the lunch break. Students from Faculdade Anhanguera’s nutrition course took part, alongside professor and nutritionist Edna Freignan.

Estaleiro Mauá in Niterói received a Chinese delegation this week, the first stop on a visit to Brazilian shipyards. The yard said the visit followed federal talks with China under BRICS and that some technical and institutional feasibility terms were signed on 5 July.
