Wallenius Wilhelmsen has taken delivery of Arctic Tern, the first vessel in its new Shaper Class series. The dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier will trade through EUKOR Car Carriers on Asia-Europe routes and enter service immediately. The ship was ordered in March 2022 from K Shipbuilding and is due to undergo its first methanol bunkering shortly after commercial operations begin.
Ray Car Carriers has signed a contract with Guangzhou Shipyard International for ten newbuild vessels in a deal valued at about $1 billion, according to Splash. The Cyprus-based owner and operator specialises in pure car and truck carriers and has been expanding its fleet as demand for vehicle transport rises.
Strategic Marine has signed contracts with Mainprize Offshore for two 33 metre Supa Swath crew transfer vessels. The order takes the total number of Supa Swath vessels delivered and on order to 10, with the first two units due in Q3 2027.
Strategic Marine has delivered a 27-metre Crew Transfer Vessel to a Taiwanese company for offshore wind work in Taiwan. The vessel is based on the yard’s StratCat 27 design, developed with BMT, and is the eighth SC27 class vessel deployed in the region, according to the yard.
