Eastern Pacific Shipping has delivered the RS Atlantico, a 5,500-ceu LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier, to European logistics group Suardiaz. The ship was built at Xiamen shipyard in China and is the first in its series, as well as EPS’s first mid-sized PCTC newbuilding from the Fujian Chuanzheng facility.
Naval Group laid the first stone on 29 September for its future centre of excellence at the historic Bormettes site in La Londe-les-Maures, in the Var. The site is due to open at the end of 2027 and will bring together the group’s drone, autonomous systems and underwater weapons activities.
Silver Boats will present the new Silver 280 Consola Central at Días de Náutica 2026, running from 23 to 25 October at the Hipódromo de San Isidro. The yard will also show the Silver 210 Consola Central and offer information on propulsion and customisation options.
Amer Shipping has ordered two additional CDS Dry Cargo 110 hulls from Concordia Damen, taking the series to six vessels. The first will be named AM Lianova and join Stream Shipping, while the second will go to Amer Shipping’s own fleet, with deliveries due in the fourth quarter of 2027 and the second quarter of 2028.
MSC-controlled Global Car Carriers has ordered eight more LNG dual-fuel car carriers in China, lifting its newbuilding programme to 20 ships worth more than $2bn. The 8,600 ceu PCTCs will be built at China Merchants' Weihai yard, Guangzhou Shipyard International and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2030.
DryDel Shipping has signed contracts with Tsuneishi Shipbuilding for two 82,000 DWT Kamsarmax newbuildings. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and will be fitted with scrubbers, while the order was reported on 02 Dec 2024.
Navantia UK said it wants to lead delivery of the floating docks programme for submarine maintenance at HM Naval Base Clyde from its shipyards in Methil, Fife, and Belfast. The company backed the Chancellor’s multi-billion-pound investment in British shipbuilding and said the work would support thousands of skilled jobs across the UK supply chain.
Strategic Marine said chief executive Chan Eng Yew will step down for personal reasons, effective 1 October 2026. Jennica Chua will join the Singapore yard the same day as chief executive, bringing more than 30 years of financial and operational leadership across statutory board, listed and private companies.
Brønnbåt Nord has ordered an 86.8-metre battery-hybrid wellboat from Spain’s Zamakona Yards, with delivery scheduled for 2029. The vessel, designed by NSK Ship Design, carries a 5,000 m³ well capacity and is valued at about NOK 1 billion, or roughly US$110 million.
VARD has secured a contract from Dong Fang Offshore for a new Commissioning Service Operation Vessel valued at between €66 million and €75 million. The CSOV will be built at Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam and delivered in the third quarter of 2028, the fifth vessel DFO has ordered from VARD since their partnership began in 2024.
Uni-Tankers has agreed to add eight 7,600-dwt newbuild tankers from China’s Haidong Shipyard in Taizhou under time-charter arrangements, with deliveries due to start in 2028. The Danish chemical tanker operator said the ships will expand its chartered-in tonnage; CEO Per Ekmann called the deal a major milestone.
Great Lakes Towing Company has ordered two Damen-designed harbor tugs from Great Lakes Shipyard in Cleveland. The vessels, Hulls 11 and 12, will extend the company’s fleet renewal and expansion program, with construction due to start later this year and deliveries set for late 2027 and early 2028.
