RCL orders four more container ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong

RCL has ordered four more container ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, working with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC). The contract was signed on 29 Sep 2026.

The new order adds to Huangpu Wenchong’s recent 1,900 TEU contract from Erasmus Shipinvest. The source did not give the vessel size, delivery schedule or contract value for the RCL ships.

Elsewhere in the same round-up, Explora Journeys signed a letter of intent with Dutch shipbuilder Den Breejen Shipyard for a river-cruise newbuilding, Samsung Heavy Industries said it had secured a $226 million order for two very large gas carriers from a Bermuda owner, and Zodiac Maritime was identified as the buyer of two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers at Hanwha Ocean.
