Zodiac Maritime has been identified as the buyer of two 174,000-cbm LNG carriers at South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean, in its first move into conventional LNG shipping. The contract, signed on 23 Sep 2026, is worth KRW680bn for the two firm ships and includes options for two more of the same size.
RCL has ordered four more container ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, working with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC). The contract was signed on 29 Sep 2026 and follows Huangpu Wenchong’s recent 1,900 TEU order from Erasmus Shipinvest.
Advantage Tankers has ordered four 50,000 dwt MR product tankers from Guangzhou Shipyard International, according to shipbroking and market sources. Delivery is expected by 2029, and the contract price has not been disclosed. The order is the Swiss tanker owner and operator’s first move into the MR segment.
COSCO Shipping has launched the 88,000-cbm LPG dual-fuel very large gas carrier Chang Ping Yuan. The vessel can run on LPG or conventional marine fuel and carries a shaft generator designed to cut emissions. COSCO Shipping did not disclose the shipyard where it was built.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has named Fujian Sailor, the first LNG carrier fitted with Wind Challenger solid sails, ahead of delivery to Chevron under a long-term time charter by the end of September 2026. The 295-metre, 174,000-cubic-metre ship was named on 10 September at Hanwha Ocean’s Geoje yard in South Korea.
Carlova Maritime has ordered an approximately 82,000-dwt Kamsarmax bulk carrier at Hengli Heavy Industries in China. The vessel is due for delivery in 2027, according to market sources, and follows the Greek owner’s earlier order for a 114,000-dwt Aframax tanker at the same yard.
Dorian LPG has ordered three 90,000-cbm dual-fuel Panamax very large gas carriers from Hanwha Ocean in a deal worth about $345 million. The ships are due in June, September and December 2030 and will be able to run on LPG or conventional low-sulphur fuel.
