Carlova Maritime has ordered an approximately 82,000-dwt Kamsarmax bulk carrier at Hengli Heavy Industries in China. The vessel is due for delivery in 2027, according to market sources, and follows the Greek owner’s earlier order for a 114,000-dwt Aframax tanker at the same yard.
Alpha Bulkers is planning to order two Newcastlemax bulk carriers from Hengli Heavy Industry, according to shipbrokers and market sources. Delivery dates and construction prices have not been disclosed. If confirmed, the deal would extend a relationship that began in May 2026 with two Capesize bulk carriers.
Capital Tankers has secured an option from parent Capital Maritime & Trading to buy 13 newly built oil tankers at the original contract prices. The option fleet includes 11 VLCCs at Hengli Heavy Industries and two Suezmax tankers at HD Hyundai Samho, with deliveries due from the fourth quarter of 2027 to the third quarter of 2028.
MSC has ordered 20 LNG-dual-fuel ultra-large container vessels from Hengli Heavy Industries and Zhoushan Changhong International in China. The package is valued at about USD 4.4 billion, with Hengli set to build 10 additional 22,000 TEU ships and take its MSC tally to 22 vessels.
Enesel has ordered another 210,000 dwt Newcastlemax bulk carrier from Hengli Heavy Industries, expanding its orderbook there to five ships. Seanergy Maritime also placed an additional newbuilding order at the Chinese yard, as large bulk carrier ordering has picked up.
