Concordia Damen has launched TUI Luzia, the first purpose-built river cruise vessel for TUI River Cruises, at Kladovo Shipyard in Serbia. The 85-metre ship is due for final outfitting in Werkendam and delivery in June 2027.
Astilleros San Enrique has launched the floating solar platform PV-bos Catarroja for BlueNewables and Naturgy. The unit is the second built at the Vigo yard for the pre-commercial marine floating solar project, and it will be towed to Valencia after testing.
The Port of Barcelona has approved a ten-year extension of MB92 Barcelona’s shipyard concession and a 4,000m² increase in yard area. MB92 said it will invest more than €40 million between 2026 and 2028 in quayside, dry dock and lifting upgrades, with work also under way on a further five-year extension to 2055.
Jim Fairlie MSP and Highlands & Islands Enterprise chair Angus Campbell visited Kishorn Port earlier this month, where KPL directors showed them the site and its Dry Dock. The visit included a presentation on the port’s future masterplan and a tour of construction works that the port said were in the final stages of completion.
Incat has loaded Hull 096, billed by the yard as the world’s largest battery-electric ship, aboard the heavy lift vessel Black Marlin in Hobart. The ship is bound for South America, where it will be offloaded before final commissioning and entry into service with Buquebus.
Navantia UK has started recruiting 28 skilled workers for its Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast, including 21 welders, five platers and two pipefitters. The hires will support three 39,000-tonne Fleet Solid Support ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, with a further 66 apprentices due to start in September.

Navantia UK has delivered the 85-metre, 1,400-tonne transport barge Seahorse from its Methil yard. The vessel was delivered on budget and in eight months, and has now arrived at Appledore in North Devon to support build work on three Fleet Solid Support ships for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Alexander Marine Design of Fife provided naval architecture and design support.
The 2007 Alliage 56 DS Promise 4 spent two years at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard in Brisbane during a round-the-world voyage. Owners Graeme and Moira used the stop for a mini refit, storage and inspections before planning to continue toward Europe via the Indian Ocean.
PT Dok dan Perkapalan Kodja Bahari (Persero) denied reports that it had gone bankrupt and that PT PAL Indonesia had taken over its assets. The Jakarta-based yard said it is operating normally and that all shipyard assets and production facilities remain under its control.
Fraser Industries LLC has signed a memorandum of understanding with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering on shipyard modernisation in the United States. The agreement covers work from yard diagnosis and layout design to robotics, automation, digital systems and workforce development, with Fraser Shipyards in Superior, Wisconsin, named as a demonstration model.
