Astilleros San Enrique has launched the floating solar platform PV-bos Catarroja for BlueNewables and Naturgy. The unit is the second built at the Vigo yard for the pre-commercial marine floating solar project, and it will be towed to Valencia after testing.
Astilleros San Enrique has sent the Paiporta floating solar platform to Valencia, where it is due to arrive in about two weeks. The 1 MW pre-commercial PV-bos unit was built for BlueNewables with Naturgy and is the first floating solar installation at sea in Spain at this scale. A second platform is already under construction at the Vigo yard.
Astilleros San Enrique completed the first loading operation for the BalWin2 project for Dragados Offshore on 19 June, moving 204 tonnes of structural panels fabricated at its Vigo yard. The work follows completion earlier this year of the first contract between the two companies, BalWin1.
Aister said the vacancy for a project manager/naval engineer in Vigo has been filled and is no longer open. The yard had been seeking someone with at least five years’ shipyard or naval office experience for aluminium vessel projects in Moaña, Vigo.
Aister said Navalia 2026 in Vigo drew more than 22,000 professionals over three days and gave it a platform to meet clients, suppliers and institutional visitors at its stand. The company also pointed to its HS60 high-speed interceptor and said it is working on unmanned vessels, high-speed patrol boats and zero-emission aluminium craft.
Marina Meridional used Navalia 2026 in Vigo to present its industrial project and the technical and operational capabilities of its shipyards. The group said the event generated business and collaboration opportunities and drew strong interest from sector professionals and companies.
Astilleros San Enrique is finishing the first PVbos floating solar platform for BlueNewables and Naturgy, with delivery scheduled for May 2026. The 1 MW pre-commercial project will then be towed to Valencia for testing. The unit is one of two 500 kW installations planned for the scheme.
Puerto de Santander has begun operating with a new floating ro-ro ramp built by Astillero San Enrique for Ferrovial. The structure was towed from Vigo to Santander in early March and installed at Raos 9, where it has now passed load tests.
Students from the third and fourth years of the Naval and Ocean Engineering degree at the Escola Politécnica de Enxeñería de Ferrol visited AISTER’s facilities on 25 March. The visit was part of the 2026 Technical Visits programme organised by the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Navales y Oceánicos.
