Navalt Solar & Electric Boats Pvt. Ltd. designs and builds electric, hybrid-electric and solar-electric vessels for clean water transport on inland and coastal routes. The company traces its start to the Sunrider solar boat in 2009, was established in 2013, and delivered Aditya — described as India's first solar-electric ferry — in 2017. It now works with a team of more than 130 naval architects and marine engineers, led by founder and CEO Sandith Thandasherry, and states that its boats are IACS-class approved and built to local maritime rules.
