Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) is a Mumbai-based shipyard under India's Ministry of Defence, tracing its origins to a small dry dock at Mazagon before 1774, incorporated as a private limited company in 1934 and taken over by the Government in 1960. An ISO 9001:2015 certified Navratna public enterprise listed on the BSE and NSE, it is described as India's only shipyard building both destroyers and conventional submarines for the Indian Navy. Since 1960 it has delivered 806 vessels, including 31 warships ranging from advanced destroyers to missile boats, and 8 submarines, alongside merchant ships and offshore structures such as jackets, wellhead platform decks, process platforms and jack-up rigs. The yard can build warships, submarines and merchant vessels up to 40,000 DWT and works with partners including Naval Group (France) on Scorpene submarines and Fincantieri (Italy) on the Nilgiri-class stealth frigate programme.

It holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, was granted Mini-Ratna Category-I status in 2006 and Navratna status in 2024, and was listed on the BSE and NSE in 2020. MDL states it has built 806 vessels since 1960, including 31 warships and 8 submarines, and that it is India's only shipyard constructing both destroyers and conventional submarines for the Indian Navy. It has also completed the acquisition of Colombo Dockyard PLC, Sri Lanka, and initiated a greenfield mega shipyard project.

- Cradle Assembly Shop and stores building with controlled-environment storage
- Submarine Section Assembly workshop (9,900 sq m, operational since 2016) with 30 t EOT and semi-Goliath cranes and blasting/painting chambers
