Mandovi Drydocks is a Goa-based shipbuilding, ship repair and ship-owning company established in 1990 and now run by its second generation. It builds steel and aluminium vessels including barges, coastal cargo vessels, oil tankers, tugs, jack-up barges, dredgers, landing craft, offshore and passenger vessels and Ro-Ro ferries, and states over 200 vessels delivered. The company operates two shipyards in Goa with drydocking, CNC plasma cutting, machine shop, sand blasting and fabrication facilities, serving clients across India and in the UAE, and has acquired 100 acres at Dabol, Sakhri Trishul, Guhagarh, Maharashtra for a planned new shipbuilding and drydocking facility.

Mandovi Drydocks

Established in 1990 by Mr. Prabhakar N. Sawant, Mandovi Drydocks is a shipbuilding, ship repair and ship-owning company based in Goa, India, with more than 35 years of experience and now led by the second generation of the family. The yard designs and builds steel and aluminium vessels to client requirements and reports over 200 vessels manufactured and delivered. Vessels listed in its product particulars are classed with the Indian Register of Shipping. Recent milestones cited include the keel laying of India's first green tug in 2025, landing craft exported to UAE, delivery of a 5100 DWT barge and a 6500+ DWT barge, naval oil tanker construction and naval vessel repair.

  • Rassaim yard (acquired 2016): drydock 85 m x 16 m, 1.7 m draft, 200 m waterfrontage, new building berth 75 x 18 m
  • Plasma-cutting CNC machine, inverter-based welding, CO2 and submerged arc welding
  • Full machine shop with lathes, shaping, hacksaw and drill machines; sand blasting and fabrication
  • 100 acres acquired at Dabol, Sakhri Trishul, Guhagarh, Maharashtra for a planned drydock and shipbuilding facility
