Grandweld Shipyards is a fully integrated shipyard in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, established in 1984 and part of the Stanford Marine Group. It builds steel and aluminium vessels up to 130m — including crewboats, CTVs, security boats, fast ferries, pilot boats, harbour and terminal tugs, OSVs, workboats and shadow yachts — and provides drydocking, afloat repair, conversion and engineering services. Based at Dubai Maritime City, the yard serves offshore, merchant, naval and yacht clients regionally and internationally, with mobile riding teams working across UAE ports.

Grandweld Shipyards

Grandweld Shipyards is a fully integrated Dubai shipyard providing shipbuilding, ship repair, ship conversion and engineering solutions to the offshore and marine industry. Established in 1984 and originally based in Jadaf, Dubai, the company now operates from Dubai Maritime City (DMC) and is part of the Stanford Marine Group. It holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management and ISO 45001:2018 for health and safety.

Services

  • Newbuilding in steel and aluminium, with in-house design, engineering, supply chain, production and commissioning
  • Drydocking (class, annual and emergency), afloat repairs and workshop repairs
  • Ship conversion and upgrades: hull extensions, bow and stern remodeling, helidecks, accommodation modules, deck equipment
  • Propulsion upgrades including DP2 and DP3, thruster installation, engine re-powering and stern gear

Facilities

  • Over 55,000 sqm at Dubai Maritime City, described as the largest in DMC
  • 30,000 sqm main building and production facilities, including 13,500 sqm covered insulated space with overhead cranes, 8,000 sqm open yard and 4,000 sqm offices
  • 20,000 sqm outfitting and assembly yard, 5,000 sqm storage yard, CNC and piping workshops
  • 7 shipbuilding bays; capacity to build up to 15 ships at once and repair over 30 vessels simultaneously
  • Access to DMC docking facilities: 6,000-tonne ship lift (130m x 35m), 3,000-tonne ship lift (90m x 25m), 720-tonne boat hoist and 31 docking berths
  • Digitized operations including integrated ERP, digital engineering, project management and production data flows; hydro blasting for hull paint removal and transition to solar energy
