Damen Shipyards Sharjah is part of Albwardy Damen, a UAE shipbuilding and ship repair group operating from three locations: Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. The Sharjah yard, in Hamriyah Free Zone, builds Damen and custom designs up to 120 metres and carries out drydocking, repairs, conversions and retrofits, including a covered dock able to handle superyachts up to 70 metres. The wider company employs around 2,500 people, keeps all major trades in-house, and is certified by LRQA to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Services extend to all major UAE ports and anchorages, the Port of Salalah in Oman, and afloat or voyage repairs worldwide.

Damen Shipyards Sharjah operates as part of Albwardy Damen, a UAE-based shipbuilder and ship repairer with yards in Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah. The company builds both Damen and non-Damen designs up to 120 metres and provides repair, conversion and maintenance services across the Gulf. With around 2,500 staff of 26 nationalities and all key competences in-house, the group is certified by LRQA to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

  • Newbuilding of commercial, civilian and naval vessels, Damen and custom designs up to 120 m
  • Drydocking, hull, steel and aluminium repairs, blasting and painting, carpentry
  • Afloat, port and voyage repairs, available 24/7, including riding squads (CDC and BOSIET certified)
  • Emergency repairs: fire damage restoration, collision and grounding damage, cargo hold and crane repairs, anchor and chain recovery
  • Conversions and retrofits, including ballast water treatment systems, scrubbers, hybridisation and battery packs, single hull tanker to double hull conversions, seismic and yacht support vessel conversions
  • Engineering: naval architecture, 3D modelling and scanning, structural analysis, stability calculations, class liaison and approvals
  • Mechanical works including 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine overhauls, propeller, shafting, rudder and thruster repairs
  • Hydraulic services, electrical repairs, GRE piping (NOV glass reinforced epoxy) renewal and retrofit
  • Yacht and superyacht maintenance, refit and antifouling
  • Commercial diving and underwater services (since 1995, 25+ certified divers, class-approved underwater welding)
  • OEM distribution in the UAE for international marine equipment manufacturers
