China CSSC Holdings has secured a contract worth more than $1bn to build 10 dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers, according to a stock exchange disclosure on 15 September 2026. Guangzhou Shipyard International will build the vessels for an unnamed shipowner, with deliveries due between 2029 and 2031.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has secured an order for two firm cruise ships and three options from Norway’s Nor Cruises. The deal was announced at the SMM 2026 maritime trade fair in Shanghai. No details have been disclosed yet on the vessels’ size, specifications or delivery schedule.
Ningbo Ocean Shipping has firmed up a four-ship feeder newbuilding programme at CSSC's Wuchang Shipbuilding, committing RMB832m ($123m) for the quartet. Four wholly owned subsidiaries signed separate contracts with Wuchang and China Shipbuilding Trading for one 1,900-teu ship each, with delivery set across 2028 and 2029.
