Şantierul Naval Mangalia S.A.

shipyard Mangalia, Romania

Şantierul Naval Mangalia S.A. is a Romanian state-controlled shipyard based on Intrarea Portului street in Mangalia, Constanţa County. The company states that it offers a full range of services spanning ship design and newbuilding through to repairs, maintenance and specialist consultancy, with hull construction and ship hull repair identified as a core activity. Founded in 1956 as a budgetary unit under the Industrial Directorate of the Navy Command and renamed Şantierul Naval Mangalia in 1963, it became a joint-stock company in 2001 and operates under the authority of the Romanian state through the Ministry of Economy. The website is largely administrative — governance documents, audit and administrator reports, recruitment notices and asset auctions — so little technical detail on facilities or vessel types is published.
