Kherson Shipyard (Smart Maritime Group)
Kherson Shipyard is one of two yards operated by Smart Maritime Group (SMG), a Ukrainian shipbuilding and ship repair company that also runs the Mykolayiv (Nikolaev) shipyard. Its stated activities cover shipbuilding, ship repair and conversion, metalworking, manufacture of metal structures and port activities, with a reference list spanning tankers, dry cargo vessels, tugs, reefers, ferries, drill ships and research fishing vessels. In 2020 the group reported repair and conversion of 55 vessels plus two chemical tanker hulls, and in 2021 the Kherson yard was upgrading a series of dry cargo ships for Dutch owner EemsWerken B.V. Work at the Kherson yard was halted in July 2022, and SMG announced on 30 July 2022 that it had lost control of the site to Russian military forces.

Kherson Shipyard is one of the two production sites of Smart Maritime Group (SMG), a Ukrainian shipbuilding and ship repair company headquartered at Karantinny Ostrov in Kherson. SMG combines the Kherson and Mykolayiv (Nikolaev) shipyards and reported the repair and conversion of 55 vessels and construction of two chemical tanker hulls in 2020, with consolidated revenue of about UAH 375 million. Recent projects included the upgrade of a series of dry cargo vessels for EemsWerken B.V. of the Netherlands, with four of the owner's ships on the shipyard's stocks simultaneously in March 2021.
According to company announcements, work at the Kherson yard was suspended in July 2022, and on 29 July 2022 SMG stated it had lost control of the shipyard, reporting that Russian forces were denying administration and staff access to the territory.
