Hitzler Werft
Hitzler Werft GmbH is a German shipyard in Lauenburg on the Elbe, active in shipbuilding since 1885 and family-led by managing directors Marek and Kai Klimenko. The yard builds new vessels — including tugs, icebreakers, work boats, inland vessels and special-purpose ships with special propulsion systems — and states that more than 800 ships have been delivered. It also runs an in-house design office that takes third-party contracts, plus an independent repair and conversion division served by two slipways of 130 and 85 metres for hauling out large inland vessels. The company trains apprentices, for example industrial mechanics.
