Heavy lift vessel Black Marlin is heading to Hobart to collect Incat Hull 096 before its delivery voyage to South America. The ship will load the 217-metre by 42-metre battery-electric vessel for Buquebus, with the operation due on the River Derwent.
Kishorn Port won the Sustainability in Decommissioning Award at the Decom Mission Dinner and Award Ceremony in Aberdeen on Thursday night. The award cited progress on the regeneration of Kishorn Port yard and dry dock for oil and gas decommissioning work.
Crown Estate Scotland officials visited Kishorn Port earlier this week for the first time, where discussions centred on the Crown Estate’s activities in relation to ports. Kishorn Port also showed them progress on its Dry Dock extension and reclamation area.
Cantiere delle Marche has launched Mon Coeur, a 31-meter steel-hulled RJ102 explorer yacht for its owners. The yacht has a 7.25m beam, 250t full-load displacement, a range of more than 3,500nm at 10 knots and twin Caterpillar C18 Acert IMO TIER III engines rated at 533kW each.
PaxOcean Singapore has signed a Technical Service Agreement with GTT covering membrane tank maintenance and servicing for liquefied natural gas carriers. The accreditation makes PaxOcean Singapore able to work to GTT standards on membrane-type LNGCs, while PaxOcean’s Batam yard already holds GTT accreditation from 2022.
Austal USA has named Gene Miller president, effective immediately, after a three-month search by its board of managers. He had been serving as interim president since February 16, 2026, after Michelle Kruger’s planned retirement.
Miller joined Austal USA as chief operating officer in 2024. He previously held senior roles at Ingalls Shipbuilding and General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.
Astander said it has strengthened its international commercial team with support from SODERCAN’s + Talento program. The yard said the scheme funded the hiring of a technical-commercial professional to work on international business development.
