Vietnam Shiprepair completed the repair of a deformed deck crane working platform on a feeder container vessel at Cai Mep Port after a container struck it during loading and unloading. The yard said the work complied with IACS class requirements and IMO guidelines, and was finished by certified welders and fitters without disrupting cargo operations or the vessel’s schedule.
Vietnam Shiprepair says in-water propeller cleaning and polishing can restore propulsion efficiency while a vessel remains afloat. The company says the work removes marine growth, reduces fuel consumption and avoids dry-docking, with teams operating from Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau.
VietNam Shiprepair completed replacement of a locally corroded cooling water pipeline on a Panamax bulk carrier at Van Phong Anchorage. The work was carried out under NKK Class supervision after long-term service caused localized corrosion and leakage, the yard said. It used NKK-approved welding procedures, certified welders and approved materials, and finished with pressure and operational testing and final NKK surveyor endorsement.
Svitzer has ordered six additional 29-metre TRAnsverse tugs from Cheoy Lee Shipyards, taking its total order for TRAnsverse 2900 vessels from the yard to 14. The new tugs will each have 80 tonnes of bollard pull and are biofuel-ready, prepared for IMO Tier III requirements and fitted for Firefighting Class 1. Deliveries are due to start in early 2028.
World Marine Syndicate says it provides tank cleaning, de-mucking, de-slopping and scrapping-related services for oil tankers and other vessels at Chittagong Port in Bangladesh. The company also lists ship chandling, technical repair, cargo handling and marine supply work from Chittagong and other Bangladeshi ports.
Hanwha Ocean has signed a contract with Taiwan’s Yang Ming Marine Transport for six 13,650-TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships worth about 1.55 trillion won. The vessels will be built at Geoje and delivered sequentially through the second half of 2029. The order follows Yang Ming’s first deal with the yard a year earlier and came two days after Hanwha Ocean booked a separate gas carrier order worth 477.8 billion won.
VietNam Shiprepair completed an emergency underwater hull repair on a Panamax bulk carrier at PTSC Dung Quat Port after seawater entered Ballast Tank No. 4 through a puncture on the bottom of the ship, offset to port. The work, carried out under ABS Class supervision, included a diving survey, crack-arresting holes and welding of an 1200 × 300 × 10 mm doubler plate on the exterior hull.
VietNam Shiprepair completed a punctured tank top repair on a Panamax bulk carrier at Quy Nhon Anchorage after cargo fell back into the hold during loading and caused structural damage. The work was carried out under NKK Class supervision with NKK-approved steel, certified welding procedures and NKK-certified welders.
VietNam Shiprepair completed an overhaul of windlass block valves on a Capesize bulk carrier at Quy Nhon Port. The work, carried out under CCS Class supervision, replaced components that did not meet technical requirements and restored leak-free operation, the yard said.
VietNam Shiprepair said it completed a full replacement of a rubber feeder conveyor belt on a wood chips bulk carrier at Dung Quat Port. The vessel is classed by NKK, and the work was carried out under the direct supervision of the shipowner using the hot bonding method.
VietNam Shiprepair said it completed steel work on a 7-hold ABS-classed cargo vessel at Van Phong Anchorage, replacing a damaged deck plate section and the on-deck fire-fighting pipeline. The yard said the job was carried out under ABS surveyor supervision and finished without affecting the vessel’s schedule.
ASENAV moved the 94-metre Magellan Discoverer through the Calle Calle river in Valdivia before the hybrid-electric cruise ship’s open-water trials. The vessel, built for Antarctica21, required the Cau Cau Bridge to be raised to at least 30 degrees for the crossing.
