Yano Shipbuilding
Yano Shipbuilding (矢野造船株式会社) is a shipyard in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, founded in 1953 and incorporated in 1981, specialising in the construction and repair of Japanese domestic (coastal) vessels. It builds mainly 280GT and 499GT type steel cargo ships at a pace of roughly 10 vessels per year, and also handles around 50 repair jobs annually on craft ranging from high-speed boats to 499GT cargo ships. Recent deliveries include coastal and near-coastal cargo ships for private shipowners as well as 25GT transport boats for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The company has about 34 employees and runs a second facility, the Techno Namikata plant, in Namikata-cho, Imabari.

Founded as a private business by Noboru Yano in 1953, it switched from wooden to steel ship construction in 1963 and was incorporated in October 1981. The company describes itself as a gathering of professionals in the construction and repair of Japanese coastal (inland trade) vessels, and is led by President Hitoshi Yano with capital of 10 million yen and around 34 employees.
