Izutsu Shipyard (株式会社井筒造船所) is a Nagasaki-based shipbuilder and repairer founded in 1927, specialising in steel fishing vessels and coastal (inland-trade) ships. The yard builds and repairs steel hulls, fabricates and repairs aluminium light-alloy vessels and structures, repairs FRP and wooden boats, overhauls marine engines, carries out steel and welding work, manufactures rollers and winches, and undertakes steel structure work for the construction industry, including floating pontoons. Its delivery list covers fishing boats, tankers, ferries and passenger ships, work boats and government vessels, with customers including national ministries, prefectural and municipal authorities, fishing companies, tug operators, passenger lines and coastal shipping firms. The company has around 52 employees at its yard in Tomachi, Nagasaki City.

Izutsu Shipyard

Izutsu Shipyard (株式会社井筒造船所) is a Nagasaki shipbuilding and ship repair company whose origins date to a wooden boatyard founded in June 1927 at Tomachi, Nagasaki City. Incorporated under its present name in 1952, it added steel shipbuilding and repair facilities in 1956 and today concentrates on steel fishing vessels and domestic coastal ships, alongside steel structure fabrication work. The company is led by President Takashi Yoshihara, has capital of 17 million yen and about 52 employees (as of August 2023). It has also reported work on using virtual-space (metaverse) visualisation before newbuilding to share design images and prepare drawings.
