Kangnam Corporation (주)강남) is a Busan-based shipbuilder founded in 1969 and designated a major Korean defence industry company in 1975. It builds FRP, aluminium and steel vessels — including minesweepers, mine hunters, fast patrol and coast guard boats, auxiliary craft, passenger vessels, tankers, container and bulk carriers — and also produced what it describes as the world's first mid-size Floating Regasification Unit (FRU). Alongside newbuilding, the company runs a ship repair division handling around 150 vessels a year and a plant division fabricating hull blocks, hatch covers and car decks. Its yard is at Gupyeong-dong, Saha-gu, Busan, with repair work ordered from Japan, Russia, Singapore, Norway and elsewhere.

Established on 1 July 1969, Kangnam Corporation is a Busan shipbuilder positioning itself as "The Best F.R.P Shipbuilding Company in Global Market". Designated a major Korean defence industry company in 1975 and approved as an FRP shipyard by Korean Register in 1972, it has delivered roughly 1,000 craft to the Republic of Korea Navy. The company reports revenue above KRW 150 billion, capital of KRW 45.5 billion, a 110,000 m² yard and around 1,000 staff including subcontractors. Certifications listed include ISO 9001 (1997, via KR), the Defence Quality Management System and ISO 45001 (2023). It is part of the Kangnam Group, which also spans paints, chemicals, construction, stationery and IT.
