Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is a family-owned, multi-generational marine transportation and shipyard business founded in 1913 on Yonges Island, South Carolina, just south of Charleston. It provides inland, coastwise and ocean towing, bulk and project cargo movements, ship lightering, heavy lift and salvage work, and marine construction support, using a fleet of 13 towboats, more than fifty barges, floating cranes and derricks, and a US flag Jones Act ship. Its shipyards repair tugs, barges, floating cranes, crew boats, dredges and ferries in steel, aluminum and wood. Operations regularly cover the US East, West and Gulf Coasts, the Western Rivers, Great Lakes, Caribbean and international ports, with facilities in South Carolina and Edenton, North Carolina.

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is a fourth-generation, family-owned marine transportation and shipyard company based on Yonges Island, South Carolina, with a Mid-Atlantic operation in Edenton, North Carolina. Founded in 1913 moving produce and passengers from the barrier islands to Charleston, the company today runs 13 towboats, more than fifty barges of various sizes, several 500-ton floating cranes, a US flag Jones Act ship and two shipyards, employing over 100 people.

  • Yonges Island Shipyard (SC): 1,800-ton marine railway for vessels to 300' x 90'; 1,000-ton railway capacity; 820-metric-ton travel lift; 150-ton marine travel lift; 500' of dockage for topside repairs; designated roll-on/roll-off site; no width or overhead restrictions from the ocean
  • Pierside / Pier K, North Charleston (SC): 342' of bulkhead, 900' pier for topside repairs, crane support, 20' draft
  • Riverbulk Terminal, Edenton (NC): 50 heavy-industrial acres on the Chowan River, 12' water depth, 300' bulkheaded dock, 500-ton crane pad, 2.5-acre concrete laydown yard, 100,000 sq ft warehouse, fleeting for up to twelve 300' barges
