Gulf Marine Repair is a full-service shipyard on the Ybor Ship Channel in Tampa, Florida, operating as part of family-owned Hendry Marine Industries. Founded in 1988 by Aaron Hendry, the yard specializes in the repair, conversion and modification of large ocean-going commercial vessels, tugs and barges, dredges, small ships and harbor tugs, along with U.S. Coast Guard, MARAD, USACE and NOAA vessels. It has become known as one of the Gulf Coast's leading yards for repair of articulated tug-barge units carrying liquid bulk chemical, petroleum and dry bulk cargoes, serving customers across Florida's Gulf Coast and the Eastern United States. The 50-acre site offers four dry docks, six berths, machine, pipe, fabrication and paint shops, and crane services.

Its customer base spans Florida's Gulf Coast and the Eastern United States, and the yard can work seven days a week around the clock. It holds Green Marine Participant certification for environmental performance.

  • 4,800 sq. ft. machine shop with lathes to 60" swing and ABS-certified tail shaft clad welding
  • Pipe shop, fabrication shop (500-ton plate bender, 750-ton shear), 13,500 sq. ft. pre-fabrication building with CNC plasma table
  • EPA-compliant paint shop with 4,000 sq. ft. paint booth and 3,500 sq. ft. blasting booth
  • Crawler, all-terrain and floating barge cranes up to 250-ton capacity; four tugboats
