Detyens Shipyards, Inc. is a family-owned ship repair yard in North Charleston, South Carolina, founded in 1962 and now run by its third generation of leadership. The yard performs drydocking, special surveys, steel and pipe repairs, hull blasting and coating, engine, thruster and propeller overhauls, and wet-berth work for commercial, government and research vessels. Its facility includes three graving docks handling ships up to Panamax size, a floating dry dock for smaller vessels, and more than 8,000 feet of deepwater pier space. Detyens serves international owners through a global ship repair agency network and has also supported U.S. Navy and Military Sealift Command overhaul contracts, including USNS vessels.
