HEINRICH HARBISCH Schiffswerft GmbH (HA-DU) is a family-run ship repair yard in Duisburg's Außenhafen, founded in 1908 as a blacksmith shop serving shipping and now in its third and fourth generation. The yard operates two self-designed stem docks used for fast propeller changes, shaft, rudder, nozzle and leak repairs, welding work and general repairs for inland and coastal vessels and river cruise ships. Alongside repair work it manufactures its own products, including the HA-DU HightechRuder, shafts and shaft seals, Spezial and PowerAnker anchors, ship/push-barge couplings and rubber fender mats, and supplies rudder and shaft systems to newbuilding yards.

HEINRICH HARBISCH Schiffswerft GmbH, known as HA-DU (HArbisch-DUisburg), is a family-owned ship repair yard in the Duisburg Außenhafen. Founded in 1908 as a ship blacksmith's business by Hermann Harbisch, it developed into a repair yard with its first stem dock commissioned in 1968 and a second in 1973. The company is now led into its third and fourth generation by the Wendt family, and describes itself primarily as a repair yard while also being known for its own product range.

Facilities

Dock 1: 30 m long, 20 m outer / 16.5 m inner width, commissioned November 2011
Dock 2: 26 m long, 14 m outer / 11.5 m inner width, commissioned November 1991; returned to service July 2023 after ten months out of operation
Both stem docks designed and completed in-house with engineering support
Locksmith's shop, turning shop (recently re-equipped with new lathes), anchor construction and a welding boat
GL certification for new product manufacture, achieved March 2014
