Cheoy Lee Shipyards is a family-owned Hong Kong shipbuilder, run by the Lo family since the late 1800s, that builds both commercial vessels and yachts in steel, aluminium and fiberglass. All construction takes place at the 12-hectare Hin Lee (Zhuhai) Shipyard on the Pearl River at Doumen, Zhuhai, China, which can produce vessels up to 70 metres and employs around 800 people. The company's product range includes ASD and Z-Tech harbour tugs built to Robert Allan Ltd designs, ferries, crew transfer vessels, pilot boats, harbour craft and motoryachts. Head office and a small repair yard are in Kowloon, Hong Kong, with a purchasing and yacht sales office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Cheoy Lee Shipyards Ltd.

Cheoy Lee traces its origins to Cheoy Lee Yiu Kee Shipyards, founded on the Pudong Peninsula in Shanghai in the late 1800s, and moved to Hong Kong in 1936. Now guided by the 4th and 5th generations of the Lo family, the company builds commercial vessels and yachts and describes itself as one of the only yards in the world to routinely build in steel, fiberglass, aluminium and combinations of these materials. Vessels are built under survey to major classification societies including Lloyd's Register, ABS, Bureau Veritas, RINA and CCS, and the company holds ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certification.
