Amico & Co S.p.A. is a superyacht and megayacht refit and repair shipyard based in the port of Genoa, Italy. The yard handles everything from routine annual maintenance to major rebuilds, with in-house departments for painting, surface preparation, metalwork, joinery, interiors and engineering, and describes work on yachts from roughly 30 to 150 metres. Its facilities extend over some 65,000 m² and include a 4,000t shiplift, travel lifts, covered refit sheds, dry-docks up to 170m LOA and a technical marina, alongside the separate Waterfront Marina berthing facility. The company reports an average of around 115–135 projects per year and more than 25 years of activity.
Amico & Co S.p.A.
Amico & Co is a refit and repair centre for superyachts and megayachts, based in the historical naval city of Genoa on the Ligurian coast of Italy. Founded by Alberto Amico, whose family traces its shipwright roots in Liguria back to an earlier construction yard in Loano, the company states more than 25 years of activity and describes itself as a leader in the international market for the refit and repair of yachts from 30 to 150 metres. The yard reports 1,230 projects managed over ten years, an average of around 115–135 projects per year and 90% returning clients. Since 2010 the Genoa yard has been joined by Cantiere Amico Loano, and Waterfront Marina opened in 2020. Amico & Co S.p.A. is an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and has received EU funding for facility expansion and digitisation.
Services
- Ordinary and extraordinary refit, repair and maintenance; major rebuilds and vessel modification
- Painting from primer to gloss topcoat, with in-house paint teams, paint shed construction and certified gloss/DOI measurement (ISO2813, ASTM D5767-A)
- Surface preparation by Luigi Amico: hydroblasting to 3,000 bar, grit and shot blasting, tank coating, antifouling removal, remediation in confined spaces
- Metalwork: hull blocks and superstructure extensions, swim platforms and beach clubs, masts and roll bars, water-jet cutting of steel to 175mm, welding, afloat hull repairs (with Sarimi, owned by Amico & Co)
- Joinery and classic yacht restoration: teak decks, hand caulking, wooden deckhouses, masts and booms, deck furniture
- Interiors: design, construction and refurbishment to Class, Flag and MCA requirements
- Engineering: 15 technicians, main engines and generators, shaft lines, stabilisers, piping, vibration analysis, on-site balancing, load banks; official in-house service supplier for MTU, Caterpillar, Northern Lights and Idromar
- Technical Network of integrated OEM partners; crew concierge, accommodation, transport, shuttle and freight services
