Cantieri del Ponente
Cantieri del Ponente is presented online through the Amer Yachts brand, an independent Italian shipyard founded on the Permare business started by Fernando Amerio in 1973, with Amer Yachts itself launched in 1990. The family-run company designs and builds a limited number of custom yachts each year from 24 to 75 metres in GRP/composite, aluminium and steel, with a strong emphasis on fuel efficiency, Volvo Penta IPS propulsion and a declared Low-Impact Strategy. Alongside new construction it offers refit, repair and maintenance work, technical consulting, spare parts, crew training and historical restoration, plus brokerage of pre-owned yachts and a charter fleet. Operations are based at shipyards in Sanremo, Imperia and Pisa, Italy.
Cantieri del Ponente (Amer Yachts)
An independent, family-owned Italian shipyard whose public identity is the Amer Yachts brand. The business traces back to Permare, founded by Fernando Amerio in 1973 as a service provider, dealer and contract builder; Amer Yachts followed in 1990 with a 20-metre craft and has since launched more than 100 yachts. Three generations of the Amerio family lead the company, with research, design and engineering supervised directly in-house and only a few boats produced each year. Efficiency research — including more than 12 years of joint work with Volvo Penta on IPS propulsion — and a stated Low-Impact Strategy are central to the shipyard's positioning.
