AO Admiralteyskiye Verfi (Admiralty Shipyards) is a St. Petersburg shipbuilding enterprise founded in 1704 and described as Russia's centre of non-nuclear submarine construction. It designs, builds and modernises diesel-electric submarines, deep-submergence rescue vehicles, rescue and supply ships, and civil vessels including ice-class tankers of up to 70,000 tonnes deadweight, icebreakers, research and expedition ships and large fishing trawlers. The yard also produces special-purpose marine equipment and series-built "Master" boats with welded aluminium hulls, and states it holds international quality management system certificates. Its site stretches about 3 km along the Neva embankment in central St. Petersburg and covers 77.5 hectares.
