Rauma Marine Constructions has completed the hull of the second multi-purpose corvette, with outfitting now under way and launching planned for this spring. The yard said the fourth corvette entered production in January, the same day the third boat’s keel was laid, leaving all four vessels in production at once.
Rauma Marine Constructions started production of the fourth Pohjanmaa-class multi-purpose corvette for the Finnish Navy on 14 January and laid the keel for the third vessel the same day. All four corvettes in the Squadron 2020 order are now under construction at the Rauma yard, alongside two U.S. icebreakers that are moving toward production start.
Bollinger Shipyards has been selected with Rauma Marine Constructions, Seaspan Shipyards and Aker Arctic Technology Inc. to design and build six U.S. Coast Guard Arctic Security Cutters. The first three vessels will be built simultaneously by Rauma in Finland and Bollinger in the United States, with the remaining three to be built in the United States.
Rauma Marine Constructions has started production of the third Pohjanmaa-class multi-purpose corvette for the Finnish Defence Forces, newbuild 6007. The yard said the first vessel was launched in May and is now in outfitting, while the second was started in October last year and has reached hull assembly with nine blocks.
Rauma Marine Constructions cut steel on the third of four Pohjanmaa-class multi-role corvettes for the Finnish Navy on 26 August. Three of the Squadron 2020 vessels are now in production, and the first was launched in May 2025.
