Tersan Shipyard

Tersan Shipyard Inc. is a privately owned Turkish shipbuilding and ship repair group with facilities in Yalova and Tuzla/Istanbul, plus a yard in Norway following its acquisition of Havyard Leirvik. The yard has delivered more than 90 newbuildings, specialising in custom-built fishing vessels, factory freezer trawlers, offshore and wind farm support vessels (including Walk-to-Work DP2 CSOVs), ferries and passenger ships, tankers and general cargo vessels, largely for Northern European owners. Its repair division completes roughly 150 dockings and repairs a year using three floating docks up to 310 m x 51 m, backed by a 4,000 m2 mechanical workshop for propeller, shaft, bearing and deck equipment overhaul. Tersan also operates an in-house R&D centre and states it uses 100% renewable energy from I-REC certified wind farms and around 60,000 solar panels.

Tersan Shipyard Inc. describes itself as one of the major global shipyards in Europe, serving customers as a partner in both shipbuilding and ship repair. Fully privately owned, it belongs to the Tersan group of companies, whose activities span newbuilding, ship repair/docking and conversion, ship owning and operation, ship agency services and land-based renewable energy. The group began in the mid-1990s as a ship service company, entered repair in 1998 in Tuzla, and moved newbuilding to Yalova in 2008. It has delivered more than 90 new vessels, averaging 6–10 deliveries per year, and in 2023 acquired Norway's Havyard Leirvik shipyard.
