Desan Shipyard, part of Türkiye's Kaptanoğlu Group, is a shipbuilding and ship repair company founded in 1970 that handles repair, maintenance, conversion, retrofitting and newbuilding for both commercial and naval vessels. It operates three shipyards in Tuzla Bay, Istanbul, plus one in Gölcük/Kocaeli, and reports repairing around 120 ships per year and over 1,865 vessels since 2006. Facilities include three steel floating docks handling vessels up to 234 metres with 49,000 tons lifting capacity, plus steel fabrication, piping, machining, blasting and painting workshops. The yard holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification, an RMRS Certificate of Conformity, and states it is the first and only Turkish shipyard with Green Marine Europe certification.

Founded in 1970 and part of the Kaptanoğlu Group — described as one of Türkiye's oldest maritime families with over 100 years of maritime experience — Desan Shipyard is a versatile yard offering ship repair, conversion, modernization and newbuilding for commercial and naval vessels. The company reports repairing around 120 ships per year and delivering repair, maintenance and modernization work on more than 1,865 vessels since 2006. In December 2024 the group completed the acquisition of 100% of Atlas Shipyard, a Kocaeli Free Zone newbuilding facility with a stated 30,000 DWT annual capacity, 48,000 m² production area and 800 employees.
