Saigon Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited (SSIC) is a state-linked shipyard in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, operating as a single-member limited company under the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. The yard builds new vessels including 300 TEU and 128 TEU container ships, tugboats and Mekong river cruise vessels, running the full construction cycle from steel cutting and keel laying through to launching with owners, class and design representatives present. SSIC also operates an in-house laboratory (Lab 26) offering non-destructive testing, material and mechanical testing, chemical analysis of metals, instrument calibration, life-saving and firefighting equipment servicing, and welder training and certification for internal units and partners across southern Vietnam.
