Petersen & Sørensen Motorværksted A/S is a shipyard and marine engine workshop based on Frederiksøen in Svendborg, Denmark. The company docks and repairs vessels, overhauls marine and industrial engines, machines and renovates propeller shafts, propellers and engine components, builds steel structures and new fishing vessels, and handles marine electronics and surface treatment. It is an authorised dealer and service workshop for engine brands including Volvo Penta, Scania, MAN B&W, Deutz MWM, Cummins and Caterpillar, and supplies generator sets and marine gearboxes. More than 30 service mechanics operate on a 24-hour call-out basis, with projects in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Africa and across Europe.

Petersen & Sørensen Motorværksted A/S is a shipyard and engine workshop in Svendborg on Funen, Denmark, working from new workshops on Frederiksøen. The company combines floating dock capacity with in-house engine, machine, shipbuilding, propeller and marine electronics departments, and has supplied engines and generator sets since 1967. A service organisation of more than 30 mechanics is available around the clock and travels worldwide, with projects reported in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Africa and across Europe.

  • Docking, ship repair, maintenance and class survey preparation
  • Repair of cylinder heads, valves, pistons, liners, turbochargers, charge air coolers and pumps; honing of liners with diamond stones and electronic roughness measurement
  • Grinding of engine frames and fuel consoles with Chris Marine equipment; laser alignment of engines, gears and pumps; chocking with Epocast 36
  • Repair and renovation of propeller shafts, propellers and pitch propellers
  • Hydraulic system installation and repair
  • Turning and milling in steel, stainless steel, aluminium and plastics
  • Steel construction, welding and newbuilding of fishing vessels
  • Marine electronics: programming and fault-finding on EDC, EMS, EVC, PCU, HCU and MCC systems, alarm system testing and installation
  • Surface treatment via a fixed subcontractor: high-pressure washing to 500 bar, UHP hydro blasting, sandblasting and paint application
