Oma Baatbyggeri AS
Oma Baatbyggeri AS is a family-owned Norwegian shipyard based in Leirvik on Stord, founded in 1909 and building in aluminium since the mid-1950s. The yard designs and builds lightweight, high-speed aluminium catamarans, specialising in passenger fast ferries, combi (cargo/passenger) catamarans and car ferries, including hybrid battery-electric and all-electric vessels for operators such as Norled, Torghatten, Rødne and Florø Skyssbåt. Its subsidiary Oma Slipp & Mekaniske Verksted, established in 1981, handles repair, maintenance, modification and conversion of vessels up to 50 metres. The company also carries out electric conversions of existing vessels and has supplied aluminium panels and structures to other industrial projects.

Oma Baatbyggeri AS is a family-owned shipyard on Stord in western Norway, with roots dating back to 1909 when Ola Oma established his boatbuilding business in Leirvik. Aluminium was introduced as a building material in 1955–56, and the yard has since become a specialist developer, designer and builder of lightweight, high-speed aluminium catamarans. Recent work centres on hybrid battery-electric and fully electric passenger and car ferries, with the first hybrid-electric car ferry, M/F Kinsarvik, delivered in 2019. The company states that it works in line with NS-ISO 9001 quality management systems.
