General Dynamics NASSCO is a full-service shipyard that has been designing, building and repairing ships in San Diego since 1960, and is a business unit within General Dynamics' Marine Systems group. The company specializes in auxiliary and support ships for the U.S. Navy — including the John Lewis-class T-AO fleet replenishment oilers and the Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) program — along with oil tankers and dry cargo carriers for commercial Jones Act owners. Its ship repair, conversion and maintenance operation spans four U.S. ports: San Diego, California; Bremerton, Washington; Norfolk, Virginia; and Mayport, Florida.

General Dynamics NASSCO has been designing and building ships in San Diego's industrial corridor since 1960 and describes itself as the only full-service shipyard on the West Coast of the United States. It is one of three shipyards in the Marine Systems group of General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD). The company combines new construction, in-house ship design and a bi-coastal repair network serving both U.S. Navy and commercial customers.
