Moen Verft AS is a Norwegian shipyard group tracing its yard history back to 1923, offering newbuilding, repair, conversion and maintenance for fishing and aquaculture vessels. It operates from four locations: Kolvereid and Ottersøy in Trøndelag, Steigen in Nordland and the new MOEN Skjervøy yard in Nord-Troms. Facilities include a 100 x 25 metre covered and insulated dry dock at Purkholmen in Ottersøy, heated slipway and boat halls, and travel lifts up to 670 tonnes, with vessels up to 150 metres handled alongside. The yard is part of MOEN-Gruppen, an industrial group that also includes the recycling business Oceanize.

Moen Verft AS is a Norwegian shipyard business with a continuous yard history back to 1923, when Ole Iver Ørholm established a slipway and mechanical workshop at Kolvereid. Today it delivers newbuilding, service and maintenance from bases in Mid- and Northern Norway, and describes itself as the most important shipyard between the Trondheimsfjord and Lofoten. The company is part of the industrial group MOEN-Gruppen, which also runs the circular-industry business Oceanize, and positions itself as a driver of the green transition in the maritime sector.

Facilities

  • MOEN Kolvereid: covered slipway hall with 18 m door height, slip carriage 40 x 12 m and 350-tonne capacity; quayside work on vessels up to 150 m
  • MOEN Steigen: heated boat hall with 18 m door height, new slipway, quay and travel lift with 220-tonne capacity (invested 2021)
  • MOEN Skjervøy: new heated boat hall with 25 m door height in a 30 m tall building, new quay and travel lift for lifts up to 670 tonnes and 15 m width
  • Workforce and approved partners holding more than 300 certificates and trade certifications, covering industrial mechanics, welders, plate workers, surface treatment, engine mechanics, hydraulics, industrial piping, project and ship engineers, ship electricians and navigation equipment
  • Yard services at Kolvereid and Ottersøy certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; Steigen and Skjervøy in the process of certification
