PT. MKS SHIPYARD

shipyard Samarinda City, East Kalimantan, Indonesia

PT. MKS Shipyard is part of PT. Pelayaran Mitra Kaltim Samudera (MKS), an integrated marine company based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, active since the 1990s. The company builds tugboats and barges, repairs various vessel types, overhauls marine engines, and carries out blasting, painting and marine shafting work at its own yard in Samarinda. Alongside the shipyard, MKS charters a fleet of more than 30 sets of tugs and barges — typically 300-foot barges towed by 2,000 hp tugs carrying around 7,500 tons of coal — and offers offshore floating crane transshipment services.
