McMullen & Wing

McMullen & Wing is a privately owned Auckland boatyard with more than 50 years of experience building and refitting vessels in aluminium, steel and composite. Its work spans commercial new construction — including battery-electric passenger ferries, mussel harvesters and other aquaculture vessels, dive support and oil spill response craft — alongside a history of award-winning superyachts, racing yachts and recreational vessels. The yard also carries out refit, survey and maintenance work for commercial and recreational owners, and manufactures its own custom aquaculture davits. The site on the Tamaki River at Mt Wellington has four construction sheds, a 300 tonne slipway, a 65 tonne travelift, deep-water berths and an in-house design and engineering office.

Beginning as a pioneer of welded steel and aluminium boat construction in New Zealand, the company went on to build America's Cup yachts (KZ3, KZ5, KZ7, NZL32 and NZL38), award-winning superyachts and composite sportfishers, and now focuses largely on custom commercial craft in composite or metal — including fully electric passenger ferries developed with EV Maritime Ltd for Auckland Transport.
