Chantiers Navals Vandenbossche is a family-run inland waterway shipyard on the Seine at Villeneuve-la-Garenne, near Paris, active on the site since 1898 and now run by the fourth generation. It builds, converts, repairs and maintains steel and aluminium river craft, including houseboats, leisure boats, restaurant barges and cargo vessels, with in-house boilermaking, welding, joinery, plumbing, glazing, electrical and painting trades. Specialities include hull careening and dry-docking, jumboisation (lengthening), widening of barges, conversion of freight barges into floating homes, and naval/river survey work. The yard also advises owners on Convention d'Occupation Temporaire (COT) mooring permits and works alongside naval architects from drawing board to launch.
