Chantier Naval Hénaff is a family-run boatyard in Le Guilvinec, Finistère (Brittany), founded in 1928 and now in its fourth generation. Its marine carpenters build, refit and repair wooden fishing boats from 7 to 20 metres — trawlers, bolincheurs, caseyeurs, fileyeurs, ligneurs and goémoniers — as well as pleasure craft such as canots, voile-aviron boats, yoles and Grand Banks-type yachts. The yard also carries out joinery and deck refurbishment on steel and polyester vessels, and occasional unusual timber projects such as a mill wheel. It was awarded the French state EPV label (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) in 2020.

Chantier Naval Hénaff

Founded in 1928 by "Jakes" Hénaff and run today by the fourth generation of the family, Chantier Naval Hénaff is a wooden boatbuilding and repair yard at Le Guilvinec in Finistère, Brittany. Its marine carpenters work in the traditional way — keel, stem, frames, floors, planking, deck beams and oak gunwales, with caulked hulls and decks — while also using scarfed marine plywood with epoxy bonding and laminated components for upper decks and wheelhouses. The yard received the state EPV label (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) in 2020 in recognition of its exceptional craftsmanship.

  • Two building halls, each with a 5-tonne overhead travelling crane
  • Timber stock held on site for immediate response
  • Work also carried out on the Guilvinec slipway with a 350 t lift, or afloat alongside
