Chantier du Guip

Chantier du Guip (Guip Shipyard) is a French wooden boatbuilding and restoration yard founded in 1976 at Anse du Guip on Île-aux-Moines, in the Gulf of Morbihan. It builds, restores, repairs and maintains wooden historic vessels, classic yachts and workboats, combining traditional shipwrighting with modern wooden construction, deck and interior joinery, and wooden mast and spar making. The company operates three sites — Brest (Quai du Commandant Malbert), Lorient (beside the Keroman fishing port) and Île-aux-Moines — and has been recognised as a Living Heritage Company (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) since 2008. Past work includes the schooner La Recouvrance built for the city of Brest, the tuna boat Biche, the 12-metre class yachts Vanity V and Wings, and deck work on Pen Duick.
