Chantier Naval Gléhen
Chantier Naval Gléhen is a French shipyard founded in 1911 that builds and repairs steel and aluminium vessels in Brittany's Finistère region. It constructs fishing boats, passenger vedettes and catamarans, service and inland waterway craft, oyster and mussel farming barges, freight/passenger vessels and craft for the French Navy, and carries out refits, plating, piping, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical and painting work. The company also applies its boilermaking know-how to port infrastructure such as boat-lift cradles and pontoons. It operates from three sites: Le Guilvinec (head office, construction and repair), Douarnenez (construction and repair) and Loctudy (repair).
Chantier Naval Gléhen
Founded in 1911 as Chantier Naval Gléhen Pierre & Fils in Le Guilvinec, the yard built wooden fishing boats until 1974, when it diversified into steel and aluminium metal construction. It developed passenger vessel work from 1990, launched an inland waterway activity in 2000, began designing low environmental impact vessels in 2011, and became a builder for the French Navy from 2014. The company states it is certified ISO 9001 by the classification society Bureau Veritas, obtained in 2017. Newbuild work can be partial or delivered "ready to navigate", always under the control of a classification body.
