Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd

Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (LUNAS) — formerly Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd and before that PSC Naval Dockyard and the Royal Malaysian Navy Dockyard — is a Malaysian shipbuilding and ship repair yard operating a 46-hectare facility at the naval base in Lumut, Perak, with a corporate office in Kuala Lumpur and a further yard in Langkawi. It builds naval vessels including patrol vessels, Littoral Combat Ships and Littoral Mission Ships for the Royal Malaysian Navy, and has also delivered commercial work such as Penang ferries, offshore support and anchor handling tug vessels and a 141m floating yacht hotel. The company also provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and life-cycle management services, supported by subsidiaries LUNAS Shiprepair, LUNAS Langkawi and LUNAS Yachts. Since January 2024 it has been owned by Ocean Sunshine Berhad, a wholly-owned entity of Malaysia's Ministry of Finance (MOF Inc).

Now operating as Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (LUNAS), this Malaysian yard traces its origins to the Royal Malaysian Navy Dockyard established in 1984, was corporatised in 1991, became PSC Naval Dockyard in 1995, and was renamed Boustead Naval Shipyard in August 2005 following acquisition by Boustead Holdings. In January 2024 ownership passed to Ocean Sunshine Berhad, a wholly-owned entity under the Ministry of Finance (MOF Inc), prompting a rebrand to LUNAS. The company positions itself as a one-stop centre for naval and commercial shipbuilding and MRO, and runs a Vendor Development Programme to build local supplier capability.
