Penguin Shipyard International

Penguin Shipyard International is the shipbuilding arm of Singapore-listed Penguin International Limited, specialising in the design, construction, repair and refit of high-speed aluminium vessels. Its yards in Tuas, Singapore and Batam, Indonesia (PT Kim Seah Shipyard Indonesia) build offshore oil and gas crewboats, armoured security vessels, patrol boats, fire fighting search-and-rescue craft, passenger ferries, windfarm crew transfer vessels and fully electric and hybrid-electric ships. The company runs both a self-funded build-for-stock programme, centred on its proprietary FLEX-40 and FLEX-42 crewboat series and FLEX FIGHTER security boats, and bespoke build-to-order projects. Since 1996 the group states it has delivered close to 400 aluminium vessels to owners in more than 20 countries, and describes itself as the world's largest builder of IMO-registered aluminium commercial vessels according to S&P Global Sea-web.

Penguin Shipyard International is the aluminium shipbuilding and ship repair division of Penguin International Limited, a Singaporean homegrown, publicly listed designer, builder, owner and operator of high-speed craft. The Tuas yard also serves as the headquarters of the parent company. Vessel designs are jointly developed by integrated in-house shipbuilding and ship management teams, and standardised stock crewboats and security boats are stated to be completed within nine months from keel laying to commissioning. Group companies also own and operate much of what the shipyard designs and builds.
