The 2007 Alliage 56 DS Promise 4 spent two years at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard in Brisbane during a round-the-world voyage. Owners Graeme and Moira used the stop for a mini refit, storage and inspections before planning to continue toward Europe via the Indian Ocean.
Rivergate Marina & Shipyard hosted its Auckland Superyacht Captain's Long Lunch on 11 March at Onemata Restaurant on the Auckland Viaduct. Twelve superyacht captains attended, with Catalano co-hosting and Pantaenius Insurance joining as a co-host for the first time.
42-metre motor yacht MY Istros returned to Rivergate Marina & Shipyard in September 2025 for her 5-year survey and inspection period. It was the vessel’s third visit to the yard, following annual maintenance there in August 2024 and earlier specialist work. Rivergate said the survey involved detailed inspections and maintenance.
Rivergate Marina & Shipyard has completed a six-month refit of the 24-metre aluminium catamaran Reef Ranger, a marine environment protection vessel based in Cairns. The yard said the work included a custom hybrid system, new MAN engines and an exhaust aftertreatment system that it described as an Australian first.
Rivergate Marina & Shipyard, Sydney Superyacht Marina and Major Yacht Services hosted the 16th Sydney Superyacht Captains’ Long Lunch on 12 November at Squires Landing, Circular Quay. More than 38 captains, suppliers and industry heads attended, with talk turning to HVO, alternative fuels, recruitment, the Queensland charter market and upcoming events in Sydney.
Rivergate Marina & Shipyard completed a full exterior refit of the Kelly Peterson 46 Wasabi 1 after the job expanded from annual maintenance into a larger project. The yacht was hauled out, worked on for eight months and returned to the water before heading to her Scarborough Marina base.
Rivergate Marina and Shipyard hosted its 2025 AIMEX VIP Dinner at La Luna on the Gold Coast Broadwater on the final evening of ASMEX. The event drew 40 guests and included remarks from Rivergate director Tom Hill, owner Judy Brinsmead and industry figures including AIMEX president Jeremy Spear and Echo Marine Group’s Chris Blackwell.
Steve Fisher, Rivergate Marina & Shipyard’s former director of international business, received the 2025 Marine Industry Champion Award at the Australian Marine Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 20 May in Gold Coast. Rivergate owner Judy Brinsmead said the recognition was well earned, while AIMEX-Superyacht Australia CEO David Good said Fisher had spent his career bringing international captains to Australia.
